Description

Moxifloxacin & Ketorolac Tromethamine Ophthalmic Solution: Ketorolac + Moxifloxacin is an eye (ophthalmic) medication used to treat and prevent bacterial eye infections and itchy eyes due to seasonal allergies. Ketorolac + Moxifloxacin also stops swelling, pain, and burning or stinging after cataract surgery or corneal refractive surgery. A bacterial eye infection is a condition where bacteria infect any structure of the eyeball or structures around the eyeball, including the cornea and the conjunctiva.

Ketorolac + Moxifloxacin has two drugs, i.e., Ketorolac and Moxifloxacin. Ketorolac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent. Ketorolac blocks cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that further block the synthesis of chemical messengers named ‘prostaglandins’ (PGs). These prostaglandins are formed at injury sites and induce pain and inflammation. By preventing COX enzymes’ action, less PG is formed, which decreases mild to moderate pain and inflammation in the infected area. Moxifloxacin is a type of medication known as a quinolone antibiotic. Moxifloxacin kills bacteria and inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase, an enzyme needed for DNA replication, transcription, and repair.

Medical Benefits:

  • Ketorolac + Moxifloxacin prevents and treats bacterial eye infections and seasonal allergy itchiness in the eyes.
  • It also alleviates swelling, pain, and burning or stinging feelings following cataract surgery or corneal refractive surgery. It has two drugs in it, i.e., Ketorolac (NSAID) and Moxifloxacin.
