Description
Cefixime Trihydrate 200mg + Ofloxacin 200mg Tablets
Cefixime +Ofloxacin is a category of drugs known as ‘cephalosporin antibiotics’ which is majorly employed for the cure of a variety of skin, ear, lung, prostate, and urinary tract bacterial infections. In addition, it is also used to cure typhoid fever and STDs such as chlamydia and gonorrhea. A bacterial infection occurs when harmful bacteria penetrate within the body and begin to multiply. These pathogenic bacteria are implicated in the creation of toxins which can lead to diseases such as strep throat, urinary tract infection (UTI), food poisoning caused by bacteria, gonorrhea, bacterial meningitis, cellulitis, Lyme disease, and tetanus. Cefixime +Ofloxacin does not act on viral infections such as flu and colds.
Cefixime+ofloxacin includes ‘Cefixime’ (cephalosporin antibiotic) and ‘Ofloxacin’ (fluoroquinolone antibiotic) which acts by inhibiting the formation of the outer covering of the bacteria (cell wall) essential for their existence. Cefixime + Ofloxacin inhibits the discharge of a chemical messenger (mucopeptides) from the bacteria, thus weakening and destroying the bacterial cell wall. Cefixime+ofloxacin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic acting against a wide spectrum of both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
Medical Benefits:-
Cefixime +Ofloxacin is an association of fluoroquinolone and cephalosporin antibiotics, which act through the killing of bacteria (bactericidal). Cefixime acts by inhibiting the growth of bacteria by stopping the development of a protective cover needed by the bacteria or its growth. Simultaneously, Ofloxacin acts by inhibiting the function of a chemical messenger, thereby enabling the bacterial genetic material to survive. The physician typically recommends Cefixime +ofloxacin in the treatment of urinary tract infections and typhoid fever. In addition to this, it is also used in the treatment of bacterial infections of the prostate, skin, lung, sexually transmitted diseases such as gonorrhea, middle ear infection (acute otitis media), upper respiratory tract infections, lower respiratory tract infection, tonsillitis and pharyngitis (pharyngitis).
How does this medicine work?
