Domperidone Syrup is prescribed to treat nausea and vomiting in adults and adolescents 12 years of age and older. It also treats indigestion. Nausea and vomiting are not illnesses but symptoms of numerous conditions, such as infections, motion sickness, early pregnancy, and gastroparesis (slow stomach emptying).
Domperidone Syrup has domperidone, which does not allow for nausea and vomiting symptoms by antagonizing specific receptors (such as dopamine and serotonin) that cause the vomiting center (chemoreceptor trigger zone – CTZ) in the brain. Domperidone Syrup is also a prokinetic agent with increased upper GI tract motility and reduced gastric emptying time.
